There’s something about those quiet moments when you close your eyes and shut out the world for a little while.
With Shower Me in Gold, I wanted to capture that feeling of stillness, using warm copper, rich plum and glowing golden tones to create a sense of atmosphere and emotion.
I love the contrast between the softness of her expression and the more expressive brushwork surrounding her. The golden streaks falling across the painting add movement, almost as though she’s being surrounded by warmth and light.
For me, this painting is about taking a moment for yourself, but I also love that everyone might see and feel something different.
