Happy Chap
Who says a rainy day has to be miserable?
Meet Happy Chap, a rather cheerful little duck who seems perfectly content standing in the rain beneath his bright red umbrella.
With his fluffy feathers, orange webbed feet and wonderfully innocent expression, he’s full of character and just a little bit cheeky. I wanted this painting to capture that lovely feeling of finding happiness in the simplest things — even when the weather isn’t playing along.
Painted in oils, the soft, earthy background and gentle reflections contrast beautifully with the rich red umbrella, giving this little character his moment in the spotlight.
Part of my collection of quirky animal paintings, Happy Chap is a one-of-a-kind original that’s guaranteed to bring a smile.
